Submission Guidelines

Article Submissions

We accept unsolicited submissions from our readers. Articles must pertain to cats and can include product reviews, vendor reviews, breed profiles, anecdotes, fiction, poetry, disease and medicine, rescue groups, humane societies, etc. This site is not TICA or CFA specific, so topics that will appeal to both readerships and all of the people who are thinking of showing a cat are acceptable. As long as it deals with cats and their lives, it is an acceptable topic. If you are unsure of your writing skills, we will gladly edit and proofread all articles for grammar and spelling before publishing. We cannot publish every article submitted every month, but we will keep all articles on file until we have space to publish your work. You will be notified by email when your article will appear in print. We reserve the right to deny publication of an article if we feel the content is inappropriate within the context of what The Show Cat Online Magazine is about. We do not offer any type of cash incentive or payments for articles. All editors and writers associated with The Show Cat Online Magazine work salary-free because they believe in what we are trying to do. We appreciate your participation and hope this magazine will be enjoyable as well as beneficial to everyone who reads it.

Article Format

Articles should be saved in one of the following file formats: plain text file, WordPad file, Notepad file, or MS Word file. Each article should be accompanied by a short personal biography that will be included when the article is published. Biographies should include such information as who you are, the type of cats you are involved with, your cattery name, how long you’ve been working with cats, and other information of that nature. If you plan on submitting articles routinely, contact the editor about storing your biographical information so that you will not have to send it each time. A small personal photograph may also be included to be published with your lead-in on the home page.

Images accompanying articles must be 600 pixels on the long side of the image and saved as a jpeg (.jpg) file with a 7 compression. Be sure to include permission from the photographer if other than yourself for all images submitted.

Articles and queries may be submitted to editor@clymbers.com.
