Carol's Corner by Carol Sue Hale Another TICA show year has closed and it's time to review. Don't forget to get your corrections in and renew your TICA membership. It's time to start planning on the shows for the new show year and the South Central region has two very wonderful shows coming up in the next two months. The first show of the season is in Oklahoma City at the end of May (yes, that is a holiday weekend which means you have extra travel time!) and they're offering HHP entries for only $40!!!! -- WHAT A BARGAIN!!! -- where else are you gonna find a bargain like this! There will be a New Exhibitor seminar on Saturday morning and a breed seminar on Saturday evening. This is a 12 ring show (6 specialty and 6 allbreed) with a Tabby Congress on Sunday. It's going to be a great show. Oklahoma City also has a wonderful memorial for the Federal Building that is worth the time and effort to visit. The weather is great this time of year -- not too hot! I also understand the hotel has been remodeled. Also, there is a great rescue group. Kate Guynn's Dharma (No Fear of KAOS) is a success story from this group. Come find your next show stopper!!!! I understand that their show last year filled twice over almost, so enter early. Get your entries in now!!!! You can go to http://www.geocities.com/thunderkatzcc/shows.html or contact the entry clerk, Colleen Parks, at kitties@ flash.net or 405-329-0043. The second show of the season is Fort Worth, TX and it's an all specialty ring show. Joe and Caroline always host a great show. Two outstanding rescue groups. HHP entries are only $25. I would like to ask for ring sponsors for Fort Worth. It's only $50 per SP ring, so $100 if you want LH and SH. Judges rings to choose from: Edwards, Kovic, Anderson, Hoehn, Lopeman, Mays, Caruthers, Parkinson, Brown, and DeVilbiss. If you wish to sponsor a ring, you will get your name in the catalog and on the ring. Please email me or Kate Guynn with the information on which judge you want to sponsor and whether you want LH, SH, or both. Remember, it's first come, first serve!!! Send your check to the entry clerk and let her know what it is for!! As we all know costs continue to rise. The clubs do their best to hold the cost down. This club makes large donations to the rescue groups, so please support their rings so they can continue to sponsor these groups. You can access the flyer at http://www.justcats.org/FortWorth.html. Cheryl Hogan is the entry clerk and you can reach her at 817-236-8111 (before 10 p.m. CDT) or Cheryl@glory2glory.com. Also just found out from Steve that Lafayette will again be having their show in October, that gives us in the eastern part of Texas 2 shows for October -- TIFS is the second one. Plan on being a part of these shows for the new show season. P.S. Next month I will be pushing the Wichita Falls Show and will also give you the lowdown on the Regional show for the SC region (show and hotel are all under one roof) |
